Na’vi Name: Yaney
Averaging at five meters long and seventy centimeters wide, the basic Na’vi canoe is carved out of a single piece of hardwood. Seats are woven from sturmbeest leather, plant sinew and strong tensile fibers. Woven strap serves as seat in the water, allows for easy carrying as forehead strap on land. Diagonally crossed straps within the canoe are used to fasten carried items. The shallow bowl of the canoe is lined with leaves from the episoth tree. The leaves contain tannins that act as a natural preservative to help keep fish and game fresh.
